From Worn Knees to Wild Arrows: The Heart Behind this Blog

It was somewhere between finding out my boys put dish soap in their water because they wanted to burp bubbles, reheating my coffee for the third time, and explaining to my middle child that "kicking Goliath in the balls" was not the appropriate answer when asked about David and Goliath during Awanas that I realized: this wild, messy, beautiful life of mine has a story worth telling.
And that’s how Wild Arrows & Worn Knees was born.
I’m Dana—a Jesus-loving, mama to three amazing, energetic, and sometimes downright feral children (excluding Callyn #IYKYK). I spend most of my days trying to keep one kid from punching the other while still trying to keep a house, love my husband, and oh yea, find my keys!
Motherhood is one of the hardest, holiest, and most faith driven rides. There are days where I can barely walk from the exhaustion of trying to keep three kids alive and other days where I hit my knees because all I can do is pray and ask the Lord for strength.
The name Wild Arrows & Worn Knees comes from Psalm 127:4:
“Like arrows in the hands of a warrior are children born in one’s youth.”
Our children are arrows, meant to be sharpened, guided, and given to the Lord for His purpose. And if you’re anything like me, that calling leaves your knees worn—whether from prayer, exhaustion, or both.
This blog is a space for the real stuff:
The laughter because if you don’t laugh you will cry
Full dependence on the Lord
The moments that make us want to give up…and the times we remember why life is worth living
You’ll find stories here full of laughter, tears of joy, pain, heartache and all the in-betweens. But most importantly, I want you to feel welcomed as we guide our wild arrows into the most important decision one could every make, a relationship with God.
So, grab that cup of coffee (even if it’s cold), take a deep breath, and know this:
You’re doing better than you think.
You are seen.
You are loved.
And you were made for this.
Welcome to Wild Arrows & Worn Knees—I’m so glad you’re here.

This is great!! Wished when I was a young Mom we had people like you who could relate on a daily basis of what Motherhood really looks like instead of painting a pretty picture! You’re going to reach so many people through this!
I hope I get the courage the share what goes through my crazy mind. Thanks for your vulnerability, Dana!
This is a wonderful blog. I hope to see more and continue to love the Lord and your children. I enjoy reading this and can’t see what you write next. Love you.
